In 2006, the founders of Advantage Aerospace saw a need for quality, cost effective products for commercial airlines. Since then, the Phoenix based company has added many products to the line to better serve our customers worldwide.

Our goal is to offer our customers deeply discounted, top quality alternatives to OEM parts. FAA-PMA is a design and manufacturing license from the FAA, certifying that the parts we produce meet or exceed the quality and performance of the respective OEM products they replace.

Parts Manufacturing Approval
The FAA has a system of granting approval called Parts Manufacturing Approval, or just PMA. A PMA is an FAA design and production approval that verifies that the design of an aircraft part meets FAA safety regulations, and the quality management system meets FAA quality standards designed to assure that every part actually produced continues to meet the FAA-approved design. (See MARPA below)

The PMA holder is permitted to manufacture and supply aircraft parts to OEMs, repair stations and operators in lieu of parts being manufactured by the OEM, provided such parts manufacture has been approved by the FAA. Use of such parts does not in any way affect the airworthiness of the aircraft since these parts are manufactured under FAA approval. Often, PMA parts cost less than the OEM parts, yet PMA parts must meet or exceed the OEM part that it is replacing. The PMA parts are identified as a direct replacement to the OEM's part number and approved for the same aircraft effectivity.

MARPA - Modification and Replacement Parts Association
MARPA is the non-profit trade association that represents the manufacturers of government-approved aircraft parts. MARPA members find ways to decrease the cost of flying while using their engineering acumen to improve reliability, safety, and availability of aircraft parts. Based in Washington, D.C., MARPA educates about best practices for compliance with government manufacturing regulations, and works closely with government bodies to ensure that the regulations reflect modern safety advances, as the PMA community continues to find new ways to improve safety and reliability.
MARPA's mission is to promote uniform, outstanding standards within the FAA PMA industry. MARPA speaks with a single, powerful voice to the entire worldwide aviation community to elevate awareness and acceptance.
MARPA works with government authorities throughout the world to seek a regulatory atmosphere that promotes high levels of safety without imposing needless resource burdens on the industry. This is just one of the many reasons PMA parts manufacturers can produce parts that are significantly less expensive than their competitors'.
